My story

I'm going to take another charge at the Three Peaks this summer, hoping this time to break the 24 Hr barrier.

 

Learnings from last time included a mental note of essential kit:

 

* Wear Suncream

* Drink Water

* Wear Decent Boots

* Use Reliable Transport

 

I'm glad to say that at least half the above list is under control. The top half that is. Boots and Transport may prove a challenge: A lack of advance planning means I'm doing this in the same footwear as a couple of years ago (wasn't great), and the diversion of funds to a more glamorous but wholly unsuitable car, mean that my friends and I are going to crack on with the car I bought off ebay for less than four hundred quid. At least I've checked the spare tire this time...

 

So, there it is, this time next week I expect to be in Wales, in a tent and quite likely in tears, hopefully having finished the challenge in time.

 

We start on Saturday at Fort William at 3pm - wish me luck and please dig deep!

 

Springboard is a great charity that I have been supporting through corporate fundraising all year. Their job is to help kids at school that start to fall behind through reading difficulties, which can be a barrier to participation for the rest of their school years and beyond. In our competitive times, and with education the key to social mobility for those that don't get a great start in life, I think their work is outstanding and hugely worthwhile. I hope you'll agree and sponsor me.
