           Initially I wanted to take part in the 10K CHASE run and started training for that about a month ago, but when I came to register, found that you needed to be 13 years old.  I am still four weeks short of my 13th birthday, so I had to settle for running the 4k.    On the day of the race (today) the weather was shocking, within the first kilometre my shoes were already full of water, having overtaken at least 20 people.  At 2 K my second place position was taken by an adult competitor by the 3K mark the rain hitting against my face became painful but I carried on and sprinted to the finish line to take 3rd position. 1st and 2nd place were taken by adult competitors, my time was 18 minutes and 50 seconds, which I was really pleased with.
