I am running 5 k in Hyde Park for Eaves on 6th September. Eaves is a charity that helps vulnerable women who need housing and support. They run a special project that helps women who have escaped sex-trafficking. There are not many charities out there who support these very vulnerable women, even though it is a growing problem.
I first found out about Eaves through a film called Lilya 4 Ever - it was released a couple of years ago (mainly in arty cinemas like the Picturehouse or the Curzon). I have never cried so much at a film! Unfortunately, the reality is that hundreds of women are forced into prostitution in this country. It is a very good cause and I am not a very good runner, but I have a goal to get round the course in 30 minutes (only managed once in training so far). So, I hope you'll sponsor me! Even a small amount will make a big difference!
