A little about the Hospice:
St.Anne's Hospice is owned by the Sisters of St.Joseph's of Annecy. I spent a week on a clinical placement at this hospice in South Wales earlier this year (2009) as part of my final year of training in medicine. It is a small 8-bed in-patient hospice caring for the needs of those in a terminal phase of their illness . The work they do at the hospice is astounding. I have so much admiration for the clinical care, support and comfort that is provided at this hospice to help ease the pain and suffering of the patients and their families visiting there. Each year, £1.2 million has to be raised to keep the doors open. Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated for our marathon effort later this year for such a worthwhile charity.
