Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m off to Sabah, Borneo on the 18th September, and on the 21st will be setting out on a 2 day trek to climb to the summit of Mount Kinabalu, to raise money for Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation & Macmillan Cancer Support.
Mount Kinabalu is the tallest mountain in the Malay archipeligos. It stands at a pretty impressive 4,095 metres (13,435 ft) above sea level (which = 3 x height of Ben Nevis, UK's tallest Mountain…Yes, I’m also questioning my sanity..) The trek which I'll be doing by myself, (with the aid of a guide!) has been self funded and organised by myself. Any support you can give in helping me achieve my fundraising goals, would be greatly appreciated!!! About BOS: The Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation is a charity dedicated to saving the orangutan from extinction and protecting its rainforest home. Orangutans are a species of great ape found only in South East Asia on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. They are one of the most critically endangered of the great apes, due to poaching and habitat loss. Statistics state that 80% of their habitat has been destroyed in the last 20 years and that wild orangutans are disappearing at a rate of 5,000 per year... the population currently stands at less than 50,000.
Economic crisis combined with natural disasters and human abuse of the forest are pushing our closest cousins to extinction (they share 97% of the same DNA as us.) HELP US SAVE THE SPECIES TODAY, FOR TOMORROW...
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Many thanks,
Ellie.
