My story

10.30am - 5th September 2009 - Coogee Beach to Bronte Beach Walkathon Fundraiser!

I would like to place a very important and touching message from one of Max's teachers and our good friend at Norwest Child Care Centre  - she is such an amazing and inspiring woman - who made a donation for this event. Thank you Helen .. you are such a wonderful woman.

"In memory of my beautiful daughter Brooke who died 15 years ago. She is always in my heart and thoughts everyday. I love and miss her more than words can ever say." Helen Molyneax.

Walkathon - 5th September - Completed!! WOHOO!!!!!

Around 10.30am we set off from Coogee beach - just a small group of us, and arrived into Bronte beach almost two hours later  to join the rest of our team cooking up a storm on the bbq. It was such a glorious day for us, we were truly blessed with clear blue skies and warm temperature. Between us all, we managed to raise approx another $200AUD - thanks to the generosity of our friends and family. The kids absolutely loved it - needless to say.

Emma and I would just like to thank everyone who supported, sponsored and backed us throughout our whole fundraising efforts for Stepping Stones Nigeria. It has been an awesome journey - spiritually, mentally and physically. I believe that the acts of doing good in this world are necessary to battle the acts of doing evil.. and even though we were a very small team we know that every little bit helps..

We both pray that these fundraisers have inspired others to do good - to help those in need - especially when it involves children who are in desperate need. Look outside of our own worlds to see the worlds of others ..

We pray that the fundraisers help raise awareness to what is happening in Nigeria,  and that it will help Stepping Stones Nigeria in any way. We pray that the money we raised will help Stepping Stones Nigeria in all its efforts to save these children and help them live normal lives as their human right! Children - are so precious.

God Bless you Stepping Stones Nigeria, you are so wonderful - without your help these children would have no hope in this world.

Love
Em and Emma.

A couple of months ago I sat frozen as I watched 4 Corners'  programe on "Child Witches" in Nigeria

Children, some as young as 3 years old, are branded "witches" and many of these innocent and beautiful children are being tortured, abandoned, murdered and left for dead in alot of cases, all in the name of "Christianity".  So called "Pastors" have brain washed the adults of Nigeria, into thinking their children are "witches" and to kill the evil spirit inside the child, the child endures absolutely horrendous physical abuse and torture such as being burnt with fire or acid, butchered to death, drowned, having nails driven into their heads, chained and starved and left abandoned on the street.

Stepping Stones Nigeria is the charity that saves these children (those who survive!) and shelters them from the atrocities that is occurring in their town. So called "Pastors" have brain washed the adults of Nigeria, into thinking their children are "witches" and to kill the evil spirit inside the child, the child endures absolutely horrendous physical abuse and torture such as being burnt with fire or acid, butchered to death, drowned, having nails driven into their heads, chained and starved and left abandoned on the street! It moved me so much that I had to do something.

On August 9th, 2009 - I ran for Stepping Stones Nigeria in the City to Surf - Sydney and raised just over $600 AUD. (www.justgiving.com/em-lemoto), managing to cross the line in 89.59 mins. I honestly haven't felt anything more rewarding in a long time as all I could think of was the children I was running for.

This coming September - 5th,  I, along with my close friend Emma Pulman and my family are organising a Walkathon for our kids to walk for the kids of Nigeria! So far we have managed to sell $345.60 worth of chocolates and are still working together to raise as much as we can.

The money raised will go straight to Stepping Stones Nigeria, so that they can provide these children with medicine, shelter, food, accommodation and most importantly love and attention.

Please take some time to please dig deep and sponsor our children who are walking for the children of Nigeria - let the world know that we, will not stand for this and it must stop now.

Thank you so much and God Bless you.

Em and Emma (Ems and Emz Incorp).
