Hello everyone :)
As a lot of you will be aware, myself, Jen & Rach have been lucky enough to volunteer in Pleven orphanage in Bulgaria twice last year and have made some amazing memories with some amazing children.
Throughout last year, we held coffee mornings with cake stalls and raffles and took part in a bag-packing fundraising activity as well as visiting the orphanage, all of which have allowed us to riase money to help the children in the orphanage, but there is still more we want to achieve.
Having seen first hand the difference that our help can make whilst we are in the orphanage has made us more and more determined to raise money for the children for when we are unable to be there. We are hoping to continue raising money to fund a baba within the orphanage who will work on a one to one basis with individual children with the aim of boosting development through encouragement and stimulation.
So far we have raised £455 but it costs approximately £1100 to fund one child for a year on the Baba Programme and so this is our target to raise. The costs cover the baba themselves who act as a grandma figure, a massage therapist, additional daily food, access to the psychologist and any monitoring throughout the programme, all of which can make a tremendous difference to these children's lives. Any donations, big or small, will be much appreciated both by ourselves and by the children, so please, please keep digging deep and helping those children.
