We are very proud to be part of a team of 54 patients, doctors and nurses with family and friends, who are all cycling from London to Paris in 24 hours. We have  never attempted anything like this before, so cycling this 300km route is a big challenge for the 3 of us!

As nurses it's a real privilege to be involved in this fantastic team event. Cycling alongside some of our amazing patients and medical colleagues, raising money and helping to increase awareness of these cancers. (And thanks to Stuart for motivating us and getting us to Paris!) 

PLANETS is an amazing charity dedicated to defeating cancer of the Pancreas Liver And NeuroEndocrine Tumours (NETs). 

At PLANETS we raise money to help the hospital and the wider Wessex region provide world-class care for patients in supporting the hospital’s pioneering work in treatment, research and education.

In 2016 one of PLANETS aims is to bring IORT (Intra-Operative Radiotherapy) to Southampton Hospital, this will enable patients to receive radiotherapy during their operation to treat cancers that cannot be completely removed or to 'zap' areas that the cancer may come back in. This will be the first machine in the UK.
