Johnnie and Alistair thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

If you can give, please use Gift Aid (see below if you don't know about this amazing offer).

Alistair's family is affected by Parkinson's and Johnnie has a friend with Parkinson's and we are both passionate about raising money to find a cure. Some of you may know Eros, you might not. Eros Bresolin was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease when he was 34.

Eros and many others like him need to get back what Parkinson's has taken away. Over the past five years Parkinson's has impacted every aspect of Eros' life - even sitting still is a challenge.

Fortunately, there is a ray of light on the horizon as scientists work to find a cure. Opportunities are constantly presenting themselves which have given Eros and others with Parkinson's Disease a real chance at casting this disease aside.

Here's the crunch research costs money. You have it, we want it.

We could simply ask you to give money to The Cure Parkinson's Trust, or Eros' organisation Pennies For Parkinson's but that would be too easy so we're upping the anti and asking you to sponsor John Norsworthy and Alistair Carley-Smith to cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats. (Here's our route and where we'll be each day).

In case you didn't know, John has ankylosing spondylitis and was told in 1988 that he had 5 years left to walk (Bah!), so this isn't going to be easy for him. John's lucky, he's beating the condition he has, Eros isn't. Thankfully Alistair is also taking on this long, long ride and perhaps those miles won't seem quite so long with his excellent company and those triathlete legs.

Alistair and Johnnie both intend to study medicine and met whilst attending chemistry evening classes. Over a number of distracted conversations the idea of cycling the length of the UK to raise money for a cure for Parkinson's was born.

Please help us to help Eros and others with Parkinson's Disease by sponsoring this cycle ride.

Go on, give a bit, it'll make you feel good. May your generosity lighten our loads and soothe our chaffed backsides

Personal endorsement of the research chosen by The Cure Parkinson's Trust
"One of the pioneering research projects funded by The Cure Parkinson's Trust is led by Professor Steven Gill, Consultant Neurosurgeon at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol. I've had the pleasure of working as a theatre assistant under Professor Gill on a number of occasions and can tell you that amongst the neurosurgeons at Frenchay, it is Professor Gill who is held in the very highest regard." - John Norsworthy

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Cure Parkinson's Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
