Last year my daughter was diagnosed with an inherited metabolic disorder called Urea Cycle OTC. There are several hundred people (mostly children) living with this condition in the UK, but there are only 2 in Ireland. This meant that when I needed support, information and advice I turned to climb.
The staff and members of Climb were of huge benefit, they had lots of information to hand and were like a light in a tunnel of darkness, imagine for moment being told your daughter has a rare condition. For days you search the internet getting small amounts of information most of which is in the extreme. You don't know what to trust and what not to trust.
Then I came across climb, it gave me all the advice and support I needed at a very difficult time.
I recently travelled to Birmingham to attend a conference being held by climb and it was great to meet parents and people with the same condition as my daughter.
Climb is a not for profit organisation trying to cover costs and provide invaluable support and information to people who struggle to find it anywhere else.
