We’re doing a 230 mile cycle challenge for the Alzheimer’s Society.

On 3^rd September 2015, we’ll be setting off from London, arriving in Brussels three days later, and with your kind support, we’re aiming to raise £4000 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

840,000 people in the UK have a form of dementia. Louisa’s granddad had Alzheimer’s and a close member of Feryal’s family has recently been diagnosed with the condition, so we’ve seen first hand the devastating effect it can have on loved ones.

The Alzheimer’s Society works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia and funds research and campaigning around causes, treatment, cure and prevention. It’s a charity we both feel passionately about supporting.

We’re both keen cyclists, but have never done a ride this long and over so many days before. Now the election is over (less said about that the better), we’re going to be training hard over the coming months, wearing unattractive lycra outfits, and getting up early to practice on North London hills and the surrounding countryside. Feryal has to learn to use clipless pedals by then, and Louisa needs to finally master eating a banana on the go without seeing it fly into the wind.

We have to raise the majority of our sponsorship by the end of June – and we would be incredibly grateful for any donation you feel able to make. On JustGiving, your money goes straight to the charity, and Gift Aid is reclaimed on eligible donations, so it’s all very easy and secure.
