Why your donation matters

The Festival Theatre building has served the Theatre well over the past 50 years. It was built on a budget and it is now operating on a scale way beyond what was envisaged when it opened. It urgently needs a 21st Century upgrade. Following a wide consultation programme during 2011, Chichester Festival Theatre and Haworth Tompkins Architects worked up an imaginative and cost-effective proposal. CFT has received £12million from Arts Council England's capital programme. This is a huge endorsement of the RENEW Project, which is going to cost at least £22million. In December 2012 CFT received £1.3million from the Heritage Lottery Fund for architectural conservation and a 3 year heritage volunteer programme.
