Clare Lardner recently celebrated her 50birthday. She decided to set herself the challenge of walking 50 miles in one day along the Fife coastal path and, after hearing about the 500 miles ‘Miles for Smiles event’, invited friends and family to join her with the aim of walking a total of 500 person-miles in a day.
On 19 June 2010, Clare, Lesley and Lucy walked 50 miles starting at The Tay Bridge at 4am and finishing in Lower Largo at 11pm - completing our 50 miles in 19 hours. We were joined by 40 other people and two dogs (and a sailing boat called Eel) and between us we walked over 800 miles on a fabulous sunny day!
It is not too late to donate.
Please dig deep as every £1 given to 500 miles helps amputees and disabled people in and to walk again.
Thank you very much for your support.
