Update on 16th May
Over the last weekend all nine of us successfully made the 100 miles around the west coast and caught all the required ferries. Everyone, to a man, did brilliantly and really dug deep in pretty challenging weather conditions to complete the course that was set.
It was into a strong headwind on Saturday and in heavy rain on Sunday. Weather aside, it was a great weekend for a great cause and we'd like to thank everyone sincerely for their most generous donations to the Hospice.
p.s. A word of advice.....if you ever find yourself heading uphill towards the Village of Tarbert from the ferry port at Claonaig, take the car, don't cycle it........trust us!

Arrived at Lochranza! the last 15 miles were all into the wind. Mr Smith summed it up well upon his arrival .....'thank (ahem!) that's over'!
Russel managed to fall off his bike . Luckily is was not a high speed fall, it was a no speed fall! Bloody knee and elbow and another excuse to moan! Still waiting for the two Andy's who are someway behind! More update soon.

Well we're off. Left at 06:45 this morning for the first ferry...Ardrossan to Brodick. Two punctures in the first 10 miles (John & Craig). Wind is very strong! Currently on the ferry with nine hearty fry ups to set us up for the first hill between Brodick and Lamlash!
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 14th & 15th May 2011.....
ANDY DAVEY, ANDY DURNIN, ALISTAIR CRAIG, BARRY CARSON, CRAIG SMITH, JOHN WELSH, NEIL MACKINNON, PETER NESTI & RUSSELL BORRIE........ will be taking on a challenge to cover 100 miles of VERY hilly west coast terrain by bicycle.
To reach the hilliest roads we will be crisscrossing between the mainland and the islands of Arran and Bute by five separate ferry passages over the two days. Tide and time wait for no man so we'll have to get a move on to make the crossings!
Through our friends and families we've all been touched in some way by the great work carried out by the Ayrshire Hospice and we can't think of a more worthwhile cause to strain our hamstrings for! So please, give generously so that more families can benefit from this great charity.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Many thanks
