Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the FootieComp : World Cup Competition JustGiving page.
You have likely found your way here because you have previously participated in a FootieComp competition - this time it's different. For the first time, FootieComp is running a World Cup Competition - but with a difference.
I have been trustee / treasurer for The Neurofibromatosis Association for nearly two years now - and I've decided that rather than a donation to the charity this year - I'd run a 'standard' FootieComp competition but with the 'entry fee' being donated to The NFA. To find out more about The NFA please visit their website (www.nfauk.org).
Neurofibromatosis causes tumours to grow throughout the body. There are two types - NF1 causes learning difficulties and social isolation, NF2 causes deafness and loss of mobility. Both are devastating. You may not have heard of it - but it's as common as cystic fibromatosis. One baby is born in the UK every day with Neurofibromatosis.
The charity supports a team of five specialist nurses who help and support patients and families. Five nurses for over 25,000 people in the UK. The maths just aren't good enough!
As per the 'rules' the 'entry fee' is Β£5 - but please consider giving more generously. Each NFA nurse helps over 500 families a year - they want to reach out to an even wider audience, giving much needed support and advice.
Please visit www.footiecomp.com for more information regarding the competition. Your support and participation is very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Iain
