We did it! - Tucker and me. Walking for AMICA. Last year we did the Great Scottish Walk. This year, since there was no GSW, AMICA decided to do it own sponsored walk and ramble in the beautiful Almondell and Calderwood Country Park on August 29th. Tuck and I led the long walk/ramble then we met up with the short walk for a picnic lunch and BBQ. It didn't rain!... well hardly at all. 10 adults, 7 kids and a dog - great fun, great kids, great photos, great sausages!
Thanks to all of you sponsored us. And Tuck says: WOOF! to that.
AMICA continues to provide wonderful, open-door support to women, men and couples faced with a crisis pregnancy or struggling to deal with issues caused by abortion or miscarriage. Most people have been affected by at least one of these in their life. Our service is available free to people of all faiths and none and we take a completely non-judgemental stance.
AMICA runs on a shoestring with only two part-time staff and a team of commtted, trained volunteers. It has only a few small grants from trusts and donations from individuals and churches. So fundraising efforts are important.
