Get behind and show your support by sponsoring , Captain and   from GAC Shipping who are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge for the Sailors Society on the 18 – 20 June 2010. 

The goal is to raise £5000 which can be achieved with your help, and all the money raised will help the Sailors Society provide practical, emotional and spiritual support for the seafarers worldwide. (www.sailors-society.org)

What is the Three Peaks Challenge?

Sami, Peter and Simon will be tackling the highest mountains in , and all within 24 hours! The trek covers 40kms and involves 2,984m of ascent and descent! 

The challenge begins in at the .  From here they will climb Ben Nevis, the largest mountain in the , standing at 1,344m.  On descending Ben Nevis they will be driven throughout the night towards the Lake District where they will tackle .  Scafell Pike is the highest mountain in standing at 978m. The last hurdle (or as the case maybe “Mountain”) is Snowdon in , standing at 1,085m.
