My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page:

Team Banchory: Judy Back, Donna Burt, Nigel & Mina Rusk, Jill Smith, Laura Bowie, Julie MacLeod, GA Tulloch, Charlotte & Russell Petty, Andrew & Helen Webster, Shona Campbell, Diane Shepherd, Walter Thain, Naomi Smith, Zosia Miedzybrodzka, Rosie Kitching, Cath Scott, Sarah & Steve Mardle, Jill Ritchie, Louise Lightowler, Raj Shrimali

Team Banchory is supporting GASTROCAN (Grampian Gastro-oesophageal Cancer Research Fund) by running either the 5/10k Balmoral Run on 28 April 2012 or the Petrofac Challenge (multi terrain - 15 mile race) on 29 April 2012. This will be quite an effort for some so please help motivate us and sponsor as much as you can. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and make all the pain worth going through!!

GASTROCAN is the only charity raising money specifically for research into stomach and oesophageal cancer. Dr Petty leads the Aberdeen University and NHS Grampian research into the causes and treatments of this devastating disease.

Main aims of GASTROCAN include:

· Undertake internationally important cancer research locally in Grampian

· Enable local patients to benefit from the latest cutting edge treatments for gastric and oesophageal cancer

· Help recruit the best doctors to work in Grampian to be part of the research

· Raise awareness of gastric and oesophageal cancer so that patients recognise the symptoms and seek medical help earlier

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
