Hi there,
As part of my on going preparation for the Iron Man Challenge I intend to do in 2010 and the aftermath of the Everest Marathon I have an ongoing list of smaller challenges to keep me motivated. The list thus far goes as....
13th September - Participating in the first Great North Swim at lake Windermere!
5th October - My 6th Great North Run
April - London Marathon
The immediate challenge is the swim. A one mile open water swim, the first of its kind in the North of England. A good starting ground for the training I need to put in for the next year and a half.
All the money I raise will be going to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. A charity close to my heart seen as I myself suffer from this genetic condition. Many with CF are unable to take on such challenges due to poor lung function requiring constant medication, physiotherapy and frequent visits to the hospital. Many with CF still die at ages too young to mention. This is who I do it for.
If you would like to donate then please do use this page, its fast, easy and secure. Its also the most efficient way of donating as the CF Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
There is an online blog/diary I have which lists the challeneges I have so far taken part in, what I intend to do, my training with the added spot of daily life and the biological challeneges I face with CF and Diabetes. Please do have a look.
