Fundraising for Motor Neurone Disease Association

Story

Dear All,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running a half marathon (13 miles) on May 23rd to raise money for http://www.mndassociation.org/ a charity that is very close to my heart, the reason for this is that a family member of mine was diagnosed with this terrible illness back in 2006.

I hope by doing this I not only raise money towards finding a cure for this awful illness but I also hope to raise peoples awareness. I have witnessed this physically deteriorating illness first hand and can assure you that any money raised by myself will be greatly appreciated!! So I ask you all to please dig deep and help me help others suffering with this tragic illness!!

What is MND?

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the upper and lower motor neurones.
Degeneration of the motor neurones leads to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs, and difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing.
