Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Well.....I did it!! Managed to get up in 3hrs 45 mins and back down in 3 hours....pretty respectable timings for a newbie so I'm over the moon the challenge was met head on. Weather was fab to about half way up then we hit rain and hail on going through the clouds....on reaching the summit there'd been a blizzard in the morning so lots of fresh snow on top of around 15 feet of existing snow which made things even more difficult, pretty much a white out at the top but we took photo's beside the old observatory anyway to prove we'd done it and I've attached some on the page..
Many Many thanks to all for your generosity and support, the page will stay open a few more weeks for those waiting for pay day etc to give their donations but I am very grateful to all concernced.

What was a birthday weekend away has turned into a bit of a charity fest! A group of friends and family are heading to the Highlands in May to take the challenge of climbing Ben Nevis. Everyone of us is an amateur and has never undertaken anything as gruelling before but are determined to incorporate getting fitter at the same time as raising money for good causes.
My chosen cause is the animal shelters, mainly due to me being a dog lover, but the recession has hit very hard and they have recently been inundated with lost and unwanted dogs and cats, who, through no fault of their own just want a loving home. Hopefully I can raise a decent amount to help go towards keeping these beautiful creatures warm, safe and fed until a new loving home can be found for them. Will you please help me achieve this?
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Many thanks in advance!
Gail
