Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So I have never done this before, never before a full marathon, nor many of the other events I am going to take part.

Why am I doing this? Why am I putting my body through this, giving up untold quantities of chocolate, sweets, beer and so on, knowing full well how hard that is for me!

2 reasons:

1: Apostleship of the Sea.

This is a pretty amazing charity, the sheer number of ships visited, people supported, the amount of effort, work and caring involved I think is something to be admired.  (http://apostleshipofthesea.org.uk/cms/)

2: Me

Turning 28. Thinking I really must do something that I didn’t think I could. Something hard, but worthwhile to others and myself. Lord knows I have tried to get into an exercise routine and this is certainly one way of achieving that!

So here’s what I am going to do in return for your sponsorship.

Not only am I going to do the London Marathon, but also the following (and this will grow I fear)

1:         Tenby Boxing Day Swim (in the sea for a bit of a paddle / race)

2:         Movember 10Km Run

Other Events to be signed up for….

1: http://www.highlandcross.co.uk/frame.htm (Highland Run, its late 2010 but have signed up for it!!)

2: http://www.kilomathon.com/?england 26Km Run

3: http://www.gadevalleyharriers.co.uk/1.7FLM_TrainingRuns_home.htm

            (All 5!!!!! That’s 70 miles running!!!!!)

4: A well earned rest when all done.

So, what value for money!

Please give as much as you can / like.

I’d like to continue doing this every year, so hoping for a good start!

Many thanks for your support and help!

Gareth

PS: As time goes by I will try and upload pictures of me finishing runs / training / or me in a ball on the floor crawling to some finish line.
