Hi There Everyone,
Thankyou for taking the time to check out my Just Giving page. I'm sure most of you will remember but for others this will be a reminder of a great friend of mine that we sadly lost to cancer TEN years ago this July....Where has the time gone???
Well anyway, James Dickenson was great young fella, admired by many so I hope you will support us in our efforts to remember him this July. Five of us have taken on the challenge of the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride, a mere 62 miles. "Not the end of the Earth" some might say but some of the team havn't touched a bike for over 10 years so well done fellas! We will be passing through Leigh on the 12th so if you see us be sure to give us some support or shout some abuse whichever looks most appropriate.
From an Early age James helped out with a local charity which started out as the Lowton Church's Appeal, they concentrated thier efforts in Romania, helping to lift appauling standards in government run orphanages and wider communities. In 1990 the Epiphany Trust was Born, the charity still helps with many projects in the UK and Romania but now also has projects all around the globe. These include projects in Sri Lanka helping with the recovery after the tsunami, they have also provided ambulances to remote regions that previously had little medical cover. One of the Ambulances was named after James.
So there you have it, please wish us well and if you can spare a few pounds then please do, I know it will be put to good use and will really make a difference to those less fortunate, if you want any further information you can check out the trust's web site:www.epiphany.org.uk many thanks, Gareth.
