Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I think that all our lives are at some point touched by the devastating illness of cancer. It touched my life very close to me. On Friday 9th May 2008, my best mate, Andy died of cancer aged just 36 years old. He had been fighting it for two years. It was all the more tragic for he died just two months after the birth of his first child. A beautiful little girl called Millie. He was a great guy and dear friend.
The Cynthia Spencer Hospice was were Andy spent his last few months. The fantastic people there really helped Andy not only physically but mentally and helped him deal with what is a cruel illness.
Myself and 7 other guys are undertaking this 'Longest day challenge', 4 rounds in one day. (I am exhausted after 1 round especially the way i play) We tee off at 5am and hopefully finish before the pub shuts. The choice of a golf event was due to us sharing time with Andy on a golf course and the fact he would find it highly amusing us trudging around all day, cursing and having 'golf paddys'.
We are doing this to raise money for the two charities of Macmillan Cancer Trust and the Cynthia Spencer Hospice for the magnificent people who help look after those who are suffering from cancer.
Thank you so much for donating to these charities, it is greatly appreciated.
