Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm on a solo charity cycle round europe. Through blood, sweat and tears (mainly sweat) so far I've managed to cycle over 5,000 km and cycled through the following countries Scotland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and am in Italy making my back to scotland. It has been difficult and rewarding in equal measures so please help inspire me home, because I know it sounds cheesy but every donation and ounce of support does help through the tough times. My main website is www.cycle4africa.co.uk. click there for a blog, photos and more information on my route and the charities. So why am I doing this?
I worked in Tanzania for 2 years and had an amzaing experience there. It is such a beautiful country with breath taking landscapes and amazing weather, but the reason why the experience was so life changing was because of all the different people I met.
Tanzania is such a friendily country, but unfortunatly many people there face daily hardships. The most heartbreaking is that some of these are just babies a few days old. There are also kids that have been forced to live on the streets and also old people that are sick or disabled who struggle to receive the support and medication they need. Luckily there are charities that do fantastic work in helping these people.
Cheka Sana is a charity that helps street children. It tries to give them a normal childhood and provides them shelter, security, education and health care. It treats them respect and diginity. I hope that that we can all help them feel that life isn't always a struggle and that people in the world do care about them no matter what their circumstances are.
I hope you can help me by sponsoring because what I'm doing is going to be difficult and every donation will make a difference.
Thanks and remember to use giftaid if you pay tax in the uk. Gary
