I am sure most of you are very surprised that I have decided to do the Great South Run this year (more likely a Walk in my case!) but I have been training over the last few months. My goal is not to finish last and I am hoping to complete the 10 miles within 2 hours 30 minutes but as this is the first time I have ever done anything like this just finishing will be an achievement:))
Also to explain why I have chosen St Lukes Hospice. I wanted to choose a charity that was locally based as I feel that the funds are often better allocated in this way and St Lukes has been a part of my family's life for over 10 years. When my Grandad was diagnosed with cancer in 1995 and only given a few months to live, the hospice gave my Nan some respite with his care. After his death, my Nan continued to support the hospice until she died in June this year and I would like to continue supporting them for the help they gave us and a lot of other families.
Therefore if you would like to sponsor me, donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you for all your support and I will let you know how I get on. Maybe some before and after pictures too but not convinced I will be looking great by the end!
