Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So, Mark my golfing buddy asked what my goal was when i was out running on a sunday morning. I replied with two main targets 1/ to get home without a blue flashing light delivering me to my doorstep and 2/ to avoid the tourists with all manor a slr cameras taking multiple shots of me falling over and posting them on facebook. To date i have managed both but as usual my mouth responded before my brain had a chance to filter and i said " may as well run the marathon ". Well here i am 3 months later and currently hitting 16 miles on my long run (18 next week, ooh i cant wait) and my training partner has left me on my own. Molly our cocker spaniel has finally said enough is enough she's great with the 6 to 8 miler's during the week but any further and she flatly refuses to come out, so i'm on my own.
To date i think the most unusual aspects of training have been the "virtual wall" ( i may patent the use of this for running ) which i find happens on every run and is certainly way more challenging than i could ever have imagined and my insane hunger after the long run which can not be sated until at least Monday afternoon. Enough for now as i dont want to bore you all to tears too early. I will update with some pics and other bits in the near future.
