*UPDATE*
I did it!!!! :D on the 27th September I swam the English channel! I swam 35 miles in 11 hours and 54 mins. The 27th was also a very secial day as it was the one year anniversary of my grandads death so I'd like to dedicate it esecially to him! And i'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supoprted me! I wouldn't have been able to do it without all of you! THANK YOU!!

In August i'm attempting to swim across the English channel from Dover to Calais. In the process i'm hoping to raise lots of money for the mental health foundation!
The reason I chose this charity is because mental illness is something that some of my family and friends have had experience in dealing with and people I am close to suffer from it.
Unfortuantley my grandad suffered from severe depression which contributed to his premature death in September aged 66. Some of my friends have suffered from eating disorders and other forms of mental illness. So i feel that this is a very worthwhile charity in helping people to cope with their mental illness and preventing their circumstances deteriorating.
1 in 4 people will suffer from a mental illness within a year so it really is something that affects a lot of people. The mental health foundation works for people of all ages and backgrounds to support them and help to raise awarness of mental health issues.
So any money you can spare would be greatly apreciated and will go very far in helping people with mental illness.
