On 3rd of February, Marc and I fly out to to start our journey, by bike, from to (). Over the course of 14 days we'll ride 1600k, climb up to 3500m (and stay there!), push our bikes through deserts, and peddle along gorges and across plateaus. This might seem like a nice jolly on our bikes, but that isn’t the purpose of the trip. Far from it….

As part of the 'Tri4development' team, we'll be using the ride to raise awareness of and funds for some of the critical development challenges facing communities in these countries.

Marc and I are both passionate about sport and development, so, it only seemed natural for us to use the ride to support ‘Right to Play’.(www.righttoplay.com).

Right To Play is an international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play programs to improve health, develop life skills, and foster peace for children and communities in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world.

Working in both the humanitarian and development context, Right To Play trains local community leaders as Coaches to deliver its programs in countries affected by war, poverty, and disease in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and .

Our aim is to reach £2000 to support projects in and . Once we finish the ride, we’ll be spending a week travelling around visiting various development projects. We hope that the Right to Play will be one of these so you’ll be able to see where your very kind donations are going and the impact they’ll be having.

So… please help us support kids in developing countries to have the ability to enjoy two of life’s greatest pleasures – play and sport – which we all take very much for granted....
