Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to raise money for The Samson Centre!
Why?
Last year one of my best friends ALISON GODENZIE was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and uses the Samson Centre which is the home of the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Group (Guildford), or MSTG(G), which is a self-help group for people affected by Multiple Sclerosis. Sadly, the Samson Centre receives no public funding, and fundraising is a constant necessity, if only to meet the day-to-day costs of running the centre.
Alison and her husband Allan have been a tremendous support to me over the past few years and have spent many a long evening comforting and supporting me through my time of need, despite everything they are going through themselves as a couple they are always willing to listen and be there for me. So now it's my turn to return their kindness and what better way of doing it than by raising money for a worthy cause!
What am I going to do?
Well as many of you who know me I have a tremendous fear of heights - I freeze just going up the ladder into the loft. So I'm going to 'GO APE' at Alice Holt, Farnham on Friday, 25th September at 3.30pm. Go Ape for those of you who haven't heard of it is a high wire forest adventure course of rope bridges, Tarzan swings and zip slides… all set high up in the treetops.
This will not only enable me to support a very worthy cause but to hopefully overcome my fear of heights!
NEWS UPDATE!!! Kirsty (my neighbour) and Alison's daughter Holly will be joining me in the tree-tops :)
