Gilbert spent the last 18 months of his life between his home in Hungary and Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury, looking after Ben.

Ben's accident in December 2008 led him to the NSIC. Gilbert played a very important role in not only Ben's recovery, but that of other patients too. He took great pleasure in helping patients with their day-to-day lives and was extremely happy to have had the opportunity to raise funds partaking in the Tour of Vale bike ride last year.
