I started running last May after a couple of health scares. I needed to find an activity that I would enjoy and keep it up. I had tried various keep fit regimes over the years without success and I thought I would try running. Up to that point I hadn't run since leaving school about 40 years ago. I found  a lovely running group called These girls can run who are a ladies only running group who offer support and encouragement to get you running and stay running. To my surprise I found I enjoyed it. More recently I have joined Darlington Harriers and I have seen my stamina and distance start to improve. To keep motivated I entered the great north run to raise funds for a local hospice called St Teresa's hospice who provide palliative care to people with life limiting illnesses and support to their families. I would be grateful if you could help me raise as much money as possible.
