Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

Wessex Cancer Support provides free and local emotional support to anyone affected by cancer in Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight. Clients may have cancer themselves, be adjusting to life after cancer, supporting someone with cancer or be bereaved. We rely on donations to provide this support.

Story

Thank you for at least thinking about sponsoring me. They do say it is the thought that that counts however on this occasion I would be grateful for your support as well.

Having just completed the New Forest Half Marathon in a pretty respectable 1:39.17 I am determined to keep the momentum going and run London in a decent time. In 2007 I ran London in 3:47 and raised a healthy £7000 for the Wessex Cancer Trust. Obviously I am not banking on beating either of these ‘personal bests’ however I will give it my best shot.

Once again I am running in aid of The Wessex cancer Trust who are one of our nominated charities for 2009/10 at Chewton Glen www.chewtonglen.com.  Running with me or probably miles ahead of me will be one of my colleagues, Stuart Ward who is running for Naomi House.

Sponsoring me will not only be supporting a very worthy cause, it will also help keep me going just when I am about to give up or collapse in a heap. If you can’t sponsor me then moral support on the day would be equally appreciated and feel free to throw jelly babies at me along the way – much better than energy drinks!
