The Google Automotive team are raising money for a cancer charity called the NET (Neuroendocrine Tumour) Patient Foundation. Please show your support by giving generously. The money raised will be going towards a much needed research project.
“I’d never even heard of NETs before earlier this year when a very close friend of mine was diagnosed. It’s scary how someone can go from being healthy to being diagnosed with a rare type of cancer within a few months. Because this type of cancer is so uncommon there is a real lack of knowledge in this area, with many sufferers being wrongly diagnosed and treated. We are hoping to raise enough money to commission a research project into NETs and in particular malignant insulinomas. “

Information about NETs
Neuroendocrine Tumours (NETs) are relatively uncommon, usually slow growing cancers. They often arise in the cells of the stomach (gastro), intestines (entero) and pancras (pancreatic). There are a number of different types of NET including: Carcinoids, Insulinomas and Glucagonomas.
There are around 3000 new cases of NETs diagnosed each year in the UK.
