So please dig deep and donate now.

In the year 2001 I dicovered I had a deteriorating eye condition, unfortunately it was untreatable, and over the next few years I lost the main part of my sight. In 2004 I took up diving, and over the next couple of years I expanded my experience, eventually doing my CCR Mod 1 in November 2006. By this time I had lost any effective use of what was left of my sight, but luckily I still managed to make out some contrast underwater.  Between that time and now, I've completed training in hypoxic trimix, CCR Mod 3, IANTD dive master, and Technical diver supervisor, as well as asisting on a technical dive courses.

In January 2007 I was trained with my guide dog Gunner, with out whom I would now be imobile but for my wife and friends. I am very lucky to have such a large amount of support, from friends family and of course Gunner, but there are those who would and could benifit from a guide dog, but nothing is free, so dig deep.

I am aiming to equal the current blind depth diving record of 104.3 m (set by me two years ago).  I will be diving with support from a team of friends in the deepest quarry in Britain, in which there are a number of tunnels.  I am aiming to go into the deepest at 104m, and then work my way up the quarry going through the 90m, 57m, 22m and 18 m tunnels.  It will be a long dive taking approximately 2 and a half hours  but hopefully less.

Spectators are welcome at Dorothea Quarry, North Wales on 27th September 2009 - although this is not really a spectator sport there will be few bubbles. Meet Gunner the star of the show.....
