Update 01/10/09;
Completed, wow there were some big hills! Hartside Is about a 4.5 mile climb which was the longest hill of the trip but by no means the steepest, However, a few beers at the end of each day soon got us exaggerating just how steep they were and how brilliant we are at getting up them! Thanks for your support and I would like to say a Big thanks to the Neil, Eddie, Dave, Malc, Rob and Jez who were fine company and encouraged me along, once again boys ....."Sneck Lifters!".
PS If you havn't yet but feel like donating that would be great, Thanks Again.
Previous post;
Well I signed up for this before I realised its not across the shortest bit! But now its spurred me on to go for it, with some training from my neighbours, coaching from people who have done it before I now realise its a bit more than 3 days tootling acroos the country, Despite Neils insistance that the only training I need is pints of the amber nectar! Sorry Neil, I know you are trying to make me slower than you but I am not falling for it!
So, how to motivate myself a little more? I thought about the use of illegal substances, but they have limited effect I gather, so how about charity? Good idea, so I chose CLAPA (http://www.clapa.com/), a charity for children affected by Cleft Lip and Palate for obvious reasons and hope you will help me raise a few quid for them and their good work.
here is an example of what a donation could mean;
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks
Graham
