Dear All,
As you may be aware, this is now my second Just Giving page in relation to the London Marathon this year as I have fortunately now hit my fund raising target for Whizz Kidz.
My original aim when starting on the marathon (literally) was to try and raise money for a charity close to my heart - Small Steps. Unfortunately, Small Steps is not a charity that is affiliated with the London Marathon and therefore I chose to raise money for Whizz Kids instead. Now that I have exceeded my fund raising target for Whizz Kidz, I feel it appropriate to try and raise some funds for my original charity of choice.
Small Steps, based in Putney, is an excellent charity that I have come to get to know over the past 6 months my daughter, Amber, has been attending their classes and my wife and I have been receiving their support and advice.
Amber, aged 2 yrs 4 months, has not reached her developmental milestones as her peers have and consequently she has required support in certain areas, notably, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy. Amber visits Small Steps every Wednesday morning and to date has shown fantastic progress - she is now starting to take steps (her record is 15 at once) and her language skills are improving.
Small Steps is a small charity with a big heart and I would be delighted to try and show some of our appreciate by raising a small amount of money for them. For more information on the them, their website is as follows: http://www.smallstepssfp.org.uk/site%20html%20pages/news.htm.
I have not set a target as I believe any funds received will be fantastic.
I really appreciate all the support I have received to date and am honoured to be running for two excellent charities.
Thank you all
Grant
