On June 22nd 2011, 6 friends and me are attempting to climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa and the highest freestanding mountain in the world.
This trip was born from a desire for adventure, a chance to mentally and physically challenge ourselves and a hope to raise funds and awareness for many good causes.
The seven of us will be spending 11 days on the mountain, 8 of them climbing up to the summit at 5895 metres (19340 ft). The challenge will be a tough one, mainly due to the fact that we will climb almost 2000 metres into the "altitude zone", where the air thins and altitude sickness is common.

Since June 2010 we have been organising many fundraising and sponsorship events including; Battle of the Bands, 2 sponsored indoor climbing events and the Launch party.
I am supporting ChildHope who work in countries throughout Africa, Asia and South America to transform the lives of extremely vulnerable children by reducing child abuse and exploitation, assisting children affected by HIV and AIDS, improving child justice systems and ensuring that children are involved in decisions and matters that affect their lives.
Please help me in my quest to raise funds needed to keep this incredible charity going. Any amount you are able to pledge is greatly appreciated...no amount is too small!
