A World First for the Findus Group Purchasing Team
This year will see a very special event being held within Findus Group. For the first time ever, we are organising and taking part in a 120 mile cycle ride. This venture is in aid of raising significant cash for a most worth while cause – Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Alder Hey Children’s hospital is based in Liverpool; UK. It sees over 200,000 children a year, and is the birth place of modern paediatric anaesthesia, neonatal surgery and children’s cardiac surgery. With over 300 beds, and a newly built oncology unit, the hospital is an extremely busy place with children and their families. We at Findus have teamed up with the fundraising arm of the hospital – IMAGINE APPEAL – in order to support the amazing work that they do.
So, on 24 September 2010, there will be around 50 cyclists (of all degrees of fitness and ability!), leaving Ross House in Grimsby, to cycle to Liverpool by the end of 25 September. A two day ride that will cover over 120 miles, climb over 500 metres above sea level, and challenge even the most experienced cyclists. And what is more, we are delighted to announce that the purchasing team will be taking part.
This event is not only a personal challenge for all individuals taking part, but it will be an amazing achievement for the business in its support of a great charity. However, in order to make it a success, we need to raise over
£50,000 in sponsorship money. We are therefore reaching out to you and your business for your support. This can be in the form of sponsorship money to the individuals taking part, a total donation for our cause, sponsorship payments for bikes, branded clothing, water bottles, food, accommodation, transport, and signage.
