It’s the 10th anniversary of the COINS 3-peak challenge and at Hamerville we thought, what better way to support the industry that we love so much than to raise lots of money for the COINS foundation? I’ll get straight to the point… we are after your sponsorship! As this event is all about the construction trade, we hope you would like to get involved. The event:               The 3-Peaks Challenge   The team:                 Hamerville Magazines’ fittest and fastest! The charity:             COINS Foundation The Event It’s is a trek to the top (and back down) of the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales (Scafell Pike, Snowdon and Ben Nevis) – all within 24 hours.  The event starts at 4.00pm on Saturday 12th May on Ben Nevis & will finish (hopefully) as we step off Snowdon around the same time on Sunday 13th May. This challenge is no small feat. It is regarded as one of the toughest mental and physical challenges in the UK. The clock starts from the first step up Ben Nevis, and runs continuously until the final step off Snowdon – a total elevation of over 3,400 metres, more than 20 miles of walking and a driving distance of over 300 miles – all in 24 hours. The Team The team is made up of a number of people from Hamerville Magazine's publishing house. It includes Managing and Professional Builder Editor Terry Smith, Simon Harrington, Assistant Editor of Professional Electrician, Mike Kerr, Assistant Editor LABM/HABM, Britta O’Boyle, Assistant Editor Kitchen & Bathrooms News, Kirsty Adams, Editor RRR, Tom Lee, Advertisement Manager Professional Builders Merchant & KBN and Laura Mach, Advertisement Manager PH. The Charity The COINS Foundation is a construction charity that supports projects which address local issues in a sustainable way across the globe. COINS create projects that change the root causes of poverty and discrimination and develop long-term solutions to bring about permanent change. Projects include the re-building of homes after the Haiti earthquake and constructing a village for HIV orphans in Nyumbani.
