We support people with Spinal Cord Injury to help them live full, independent lives

Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2013 I joined Aspire working at the Aspire National Training Centre in Stanmore and decided to set myself a challenge, having been unable to play hockey for just over two years. I successfully completed the 2013 Ride-100 in 6 hours 31 minutes; with legs like jelly and a bum as numb as you could ever imagine I said I would never do it again, but alas here I am signing up for it once again. But why?

Every eight hours in the UK someone is paralysed by spinal cord injury and told they will never walk again. There is currently no treatment for spinal cord injury. Aspire support people who have sustained spinal injury from injury to independence through their Independent Living Advisors, Assistive Technology, Aspire Housing  Aspire Grants, and through campaigning work.

There are a lot of things we take for granted in this world - to change a life or lives by supporting people who aren't as fortunate is just one of the reasons why I continue to support Aspire. Spinal cord injury can happen to anyone at any time ...

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
