If you know me you will understand that exercise and I rarely meet but over the next few months this is set to change. I’ll be undertaking a strict training schedule (yes, I said strict) which will prepare me for my 90km trek through the Indian Himalayas. I'll be hiking approximately 6-8 hours a day at altitude and scaling over 2,700m several times over.
I’m hoping that everyone will dig deep and help me with my target of £2,200 for Maytree. The work of Maytree is something very close to my heart and while I have been lucky enough not to experience too many dark days in my life I have known those who have.
Maytree's aim is to save lives and relieve suffering by providing a one-off four night stay to people in a suicidal crisis. It offers a supportive, non-medical environment where you can rest, reflect, and be befriended confidentially and without judgement. The money raised from my trek will give someone the chance to discover hope and believe in a future. A stay at Maytree can make the difference between wanting to die and wanting to live. If you would like to find out more please see the website maytree.org.uk or contact me.
I’ll be arranging some events over the next few months - so keep your eyes peeled. Thanks for all the support and positivity I’ve received so far for what is going to be the toughest challenge of my 32 years! x
