I hope this means you've decided to make a very much appreciated donation!! I know it feels like everyday you receive another invitation to sponsor somebody doing something somewhere, a run, a cycle, or whatever, and, like me, maybe you don't really pay that much attention so if you're reading this then you've actually given me the time of day to explain my cause and your generous little fingers are perhaps about to make a contribution, for that I am very very grateful.
The hospice, based in Luxor not only looks after around 50 children on a full time basis, providing their medical, education and other needs but also does a lot of important work with individuals and schools within the community. I will not bombard you with a hoard of facts and figures, suffice to say the hospice plays a very supportive and positive role in the lives of young Egyptian children.
Personally, this is a cause I feel very strongly about. For me it's about wanting to give something back to a country and a people for whom I have considerable respect, for a heritage and history I find myself dependent upon in my current employment. That, and an increasing awareness of how lucky I am to live day to day with so many privileges. Please don't think I just expect you to part with your hard-earned cash, I am putting my money where my mouth is and am personally going to match my fundraising total, so please don't give too generously... (joking obviously, be as generous as you like!!)
For those who don't know me all that well, I have been bitten by the running bug these last couple of years, so am aiming for a fairly respectable time, below 1 hr 40 mins, so please support me!
