Story
On 22nd July 2018 I will be walking 26 miles from St. Albans City FC to Wembley Stadium.
Five of my friends and relatives have recently suffered with prostate cancer. It is now the most common cancer in men in the UK.
I am doing this marathon length walk to help raise awareness of this killer and to raise money to towards Prostate Cancer UK's aim to "improve the care and welfare of those affected by prostate cancer, increase investment in research, and raise public and political awareness of a long-neglected disease".
Across the UK
- Over 47,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year – that's 129 men every day.
- Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 11,000 men every year.
- 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime.
