We strengthen Ugandan families to adopt orphans and vulnerable children.
Story
It was my son-in-law Sam's idea. He and Leah are running in the Maidenhead Half Marathon on 7th Sept. As I've been running regularly in Uganda I decided to join them. Because of past injuries I'm not a great runner - more of a 'plodder'. But I've decided to do the half marathon (13 miles) as a sponsored run to raise money for 'Orphans Know More' (www.orphansknowmore.com) - a YWAM project which supports Ugandan AIDS orphans by giving them 'a Face, a Family and a Future'. While in Uganda we got to know some of the families and children who benefit from this amazing charity. My run will be for them and many others.
I have two goals: to run under 2 hrs 30 mins, and to raise £500. Any amount you give will be well used and hugely appreciated. Thank you for your support!
Orphans Know More is a relationally based partnership working together to give orphans a Face, a Family and a Future. The project assists 25 Ugandan families caring for 150 HIV/AIDS orphans and vulnerable children with education, healthcare and grief counselling and provides a permanent family.
