As you can see we are running the 2010 London Marathon!!
Looking at the photo you might presume that we're not the most natural of athletes, and you'd be right. To date we have both completed a 10k (as you can see in our wonderful gallery) which is about 20 miles shy of a marathon. However we've been working our botties off since September to get in shape and improve our fitness.
Our places are provided by The Salvation Army and we'd be super dooper grateful for any money you'd like to donate. It'll motivate us something rotten!
The money we raise will go to a Salvation Army family centre in Leeds which is currently undergoing a much needed refurbishment. The centre provides temporary accommodation to 28 families (only women and children) who are waiting to be rehoused, most are escaping domestic violence. The money we raise will specifically help furnish a childrens' play room as there is currently no child friendly space in the centre.
We know you'll all donate as much as you can, and in return we'll carry on pounding the pavements in our glamourous hi vis vests risking dead toenails and aching muscles!
Also please remember to Gift Aid your donation if you can.
If you would like to join us on marathon day then please come along armed with a bag of jelly babies preferably or a giant snickers.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
