As many of you know I have been passionate about animals for most of my life. Since graduating from Liverpool veterinary school in 1996 my career has been devoted to working with animals and helping them. The animals I treat are very fortunate in that they have loving, caring owners. Sadly there are plenty of animals who are not so lucky and it is these which I would now like to help.
To this end, I am embarking on a horse trek across the Inca trail in the Peruvian Andes to raise funds for The Blue Cross. The trek will take place in September 2010 and should take 5 days. We will cover approximately 135km at altitudes of up to 8000 feet over some quite rough terrain, so it will be very challenging. Our night-time accommodation will consist of a tent, with no creature comforts in freezing temperatures! However, we will get the opportunity to visit some Inca ruins en route, and ride amongst Llamas and Alpacas roaming the eucalyptus forests and mountain passes.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
