My name is Hazel and i am mum to a daughter (Lynsey) and 3 boys (John, Lewis and George). This Christmas will be special to us as we will be spending it with our son John. Last year i didn't look forward to the festivities as John was serving out in Iraq. This was his second tour. Thankfully John came home to us safely.
As a family we are only too aware of the other serving men and women who are not as fortunate as John and did not return to their loved ones as well as the injured who we salute as hero's.
I am just a Mum who felt helpless when I heard about the boys and girls who were fighting and being killed and wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. I just want to do something to help.
I understand that we can’t prevent wars, we can’t stop our young men and women from being hurt, BUT, acting together, we CAN help them get better. Thats exactly what Help 4 Hero's is all about.
I plan to run (Slowly) the Fraserburgh Half Marathon on 15th November 2009, this will be the longest distance that I have attempted, but it's the least i can do to for this excellent cause. From the bottom of my heart i THANK YOU ALL XXXXXXXXXXXX
