As many of you know my sister and I had our thyroids removed way back in 1994 after discovering we had inherited the gene for Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia 2a.  This disorder can cause benign or malignant tumors throughout the endocrine system.  Unfortunately MEN2a has taken the lives our dad and grandad but to date we have been unaffected.  Even better news was discovering my daughter has not inherited the gene!

I know first hand how MEN can affect a family and how little information there is about it.  AMEND is a registered charity that supports familys, provides information and keeps up to date with current research regarding MEN so I thought it would be a perfect place for any sponsor money to go to.

This will be the furthest I have run (ever) and I am hoping to complete it in 1hour and 15mins ish. (although I'm sure I'll be able to find a suitable excuse if I take a little bit longer).  So please give as much as you can and I will try not to quit half way round!
