***The run was postponed due to snow and has been re-scheduled for Sunday 14th February 2010***
The Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group is once again organising the 2009 Santa Ride in aid of Zoe's Place Baby Hospice in Middlesbrough.
In December 2006, 28 brave souls turned up for the first run. All the riders and pillions had to wear a Santa Suit. The event went very well and we raised about £1600. The event has been running each year and is growing bigger and bigger.
The established 22 mile route the ride now follows is starting from Thornaby Fire Station, travelling through Stockton, Middlesbrough, Redcar Sea Front and finishing at Kirkleatham Hall for a bacon butty and a brew.
The lead vehicle is a Cleveland Fire engine and Cleveland Police Motorcycle Section provide the escort.
Myself, my "Old Pops" and my two brothers-in-law are braving the cold and taking part in this years Christmas Fundraising Event. I have a wonderfully "silly" costume and my "Old Pops" has worked very hard to turn his Trike into "Santa's Sleigh" !
We would be very grateful if you would support us in raising some money for this wonderful local charity by sponsoring us a quid or two. We promise to make prize fools of ourselves ! So, come on, that must be worth a quid of anyones money !
Many Thanks
The Team
